Listening to: Machu Picchu – The Strokes

This is my first blog post since….well, I wanna say 2010, but let’s not be so dramatic.

I guess I’m supposed to explain what happened to me for all those who visited my previous website. Well, I graduated college, delivered a speech and got a job. And then another job…by the time I knew it, I had 2 jobs and was working everyday. I struggled with my health, dealt with drama, traveled overseas and now I’m back. Mostly recovered, I am happy to say I will be blogging daily because I truly miss writing. I also will be putting up a blog of my trip to France and Lebanon, want to show everyone those photos!

I also had to keep up a semi-boring social life because apparently human contact is necessary in this society. Not sure why being a hermit is frowned upon by some, I say that leading a life of just playing games on the computer and watching movies is living on the edge. I mean have you ever gotten to 100 stars on mario 64? That is literally like winning the lottery…but without the money and all. Still gotta pay them taxxxessss.

While all my friends (acquaintances now) were off getting engaged and married, I was planning my next site, learning photography, working with models, and teaching myself a third language. Designing is my full time job, but photography is now a ‘serious hobby’ of mine that I also enjoy…right next to eating Reeses and petting cats. It allows me to do what Graphic Design doesn’t: BE OUTSIDE.

In my absence I’ve learned a lot about myself and what kind of person I am, and what more I would like to become. I’ve also realized that no matter how hard I try… I suck at cooking and should never try to dance to Thriller outside – because no matter how dark it is the neighbors can apparently still see you. Oh! And Miley Cyrus….girl, you need a separate blog. I’m saving that for later, LOL.

I’ve been wrapped up in so many projects lately. Been super busy everyday, but I am blessed to be alive and well. Ugh, I am so sentimental. I should give speeches at a church.

I have a lot more content to upload, but I’ve started with a fair amount. I’ll be uploading more stuff little by little!

So! I suppose this is a short blog to begin with, fear not! There will be plenty more. But to those who don’t know me….it’s a pleasure to meet you. I hope that I can help you in photography or design in some way, or make you laugh.

To those who do know me: I’ve missed you (too).

Hi Jessica! I’ve been following your work for so many years and I am so excited for this new website. I used to frequent Swimchick back in like 2007 and I’ve always checked back ever since. Your photography is breathtaking; I’ve been doing photography for several years so when I found out that you did it I was immediately inspired – and envious of your talent. The resources on here are so going to come in handy. Thank you so much for putting all this together! xo

So excited for the new blog, Jess! I will have to get Photoshop and use your tutorials. I’m always looking for ways to learn how to amp up my photos and I’ve always loved your work. So proud to see how far you’ve come! I’ll check back to the site often.
